Overrated

All of my friends have been talking about going to the Juicy J concert that was this past Friday night. It was really annoying to me to hear all of my friends talk about it because I think he is just way overrated and not even a good rapper. Honestly, I feel like I could listen to the first 20 seconds of his songs, and I would have already heard the whole song. I can't listen to things that are so repetitive and don't have a good and unique verse after every course. I don't recommend listening to any of his stuff because I think there are many other modern rappers that are much more talented than him like Kendrick Lamar for example. All of his verses sound unique and have the best flow. He's a real rapper.

RIP

It was very interesting to talk about the passing of one of Anderson's students this week. It made our class grow into the conversation of religion, God, life and death. I believe that I am a strong Christian, but after some points that were brought up it really had me thinking. I had never thought about how much people death just because no one on earth really knows what happens after you pass away. What if your life meant nothing and there was nothing after you die? I personally hope and believe that there is more after you die, but I have faith. I like having conversations like these in class because it really makes me see things from other people's perspectives that I hadn't before.

Katy Perry

I have to talk about the one and only Katy Perry. I would probably have to admit that I totally have a crush on her because she is so gorgeous and awesome. Katy has such a strong voice, and all of her performances are so strong that she makes it feel like she's singing directly to you. I always get this vibe from
Her that she is so chill and that she is really easy to relate to. She has so many different songs that are about break ups, partying, and many more things. Some of my favorite songs by her are her main stream songs like "TGIF" and "Teenage Dream". Katy just has such a strong presence, like when she walks into a room all eyes turn to her. She is beautiful and I love her and I think that anyone and everyone should check her out if they haven't already.

Nirvana

I enjoy being able to watch and listen to a band perform, so I was excited about being able to do that with Nirvana. I have heard some songs by them, but I wasn't really a huge fan because i just heard their songs as they came on the radio. I must say that after a while of listening to them, all their songs started to sound the same to me. I did think that it was really cool how there was a very exclusive and "close" atmosphere between the audience and the performers of Nirvana. I remember a certain point in the movie where the head singer just ask the audience for any song requests they had. I think that the most important feeling a band can do to their audience is make them feel like they have their own relationship with them and that they really care to entertain them to the best of their ability. I can conclude that Nirvana is not my favorite band, but I for sure think that they are a chill and thoughtful band.

My family

So tomorrow is my family reunion. My uncle from Colorado came down just so he could play again with my dad, cousins, and other uncles. I have never heard all of my family play together before, so watching them practice right now is just amazing to watch. I never knew how awesome my family was and just how many musicians are in my family. Tomorrow, Saturday, is the day that they actually perform live in front of all my family. It's going to be one of the most memorable nights of my life.

Review of class

The album that we listened to in class today was not my favorite. I'm not really into rap, so I wasn't expecting it to be my favorite. Also, I don't think that there should ever be a song longer than like 6 minutes. The last song on the album we listened to was a little over 12 minutes, and I just think that is crazy and way to long. I did think that the album did have really good transitions to songs through out. I wouldn't say that it was a albums I hate, but it for sure not my favorite.

SNL

I really enjoyed watching some SNL in class the other day, especially because all of the music performances were great. To me, it seems as if a lot of the more recent SNL music performances haven't been good. For example, I remember watching some girl named Jessie J perform one time on SNL and I absolutely hated it. I wasn't her song that I hated, it was just how tone deaf she was. In more recent years I just feel as a whole that the quality of a performers live quality has gone down as whole. Now we have all this fancy equipment to fix every little thing we don't like about our voices. I have no desire to see any current "big stars" right now love because I know I will be greatly disappointed.

U2

My dad has always been a huge U2 fan, so as I was growing up I was pretty exposed to this band. After listening to them a lot with my dad and jamming out with him, I started to really like this band as well. One of my all time favorite songs has to be "Where The Streets Have No End" by U2. That song probably has one of the most sick intros to a song that just get me pumped up. Then, the first lyric to that song is "I wanna run" and I think it's the most perfect lyric for that song because thats exactly what I wanna do after I hear the badass into that song has. I think that everyone should go check this band out sometime.
